CAREER TALK

The School of Excellence organized a Career Talk where expert advice secondary school learners what to expect of the educational and the commercial environment in which they will find themselves and how they can equip themselves to meet these expectations.

Most senior secondary school learners have to make a career choice. The decision they make now will determine their career path. For the future. Many people take it upon themselves to give these learners advice on where their future lies. Learners have to be very careful what they do with this advice because they have to remember that they are not just planning to get a job. They are actually planning a career. Their field of interest will determine the choice they make, and this will commit them to a career which they will probably pursue for the next 30-40 years.

SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE

The Michelle McLean Children Trust`s School of Excellence was established in 2000. It presented a wide spectrum of training courses throughout Namibia.

The School of Excellence was a thriving training centre that offered different training programmes to primary as well as secondary school learners, and also presented training programmes for Early Childhood Development.

Through the School of Excellence we motivated learners to take a hand in their own education so that, as adults, they will be able to contribute to the social and economic and social development of Namibia. Many people have the perception that our young people do not make a positive contribution towards society and therefore the role that they can play is sometimes overlooked.

To counter this perception the objective of the School of Excellence was to empower and provide the children of Namibia with the necessary equipment to fulfill this role by creating a wide range of training and education opportunities.

Through the School of Excellence the following programmes was offered:

Extra classes for Grade 10 - 12 in Mathematics, Physical Science, Biology, Accounting, Geography, Business Studies & Economics

Winter School for Grade 10 - 12

Regional Spring School for Grade 10 and 12 learners.
